Setting a “lunch break” alarm

Feel like a hamster on an endless treadmill?

An Australian news site (News.com.au) has a GREAT hack to ensure you don’t work yourself to death:  Try setting a “lunch break” alarm!

We’ve all worked through lunch (maybe you do it every day!) and 80% of those that do say it has a negative effect on their mental health.

This being Mental Health Awareness Month is a perfect time to get off that treadmill by setting an alarm around lunchtime (or the natural midday break in your workday) to remind yourself to step away from the cubicle.

Trust us…the work will be there when you get back from your break!

You might think working through lunch makes you more productive but it’s actually the opposite: Because you’re not giving your brain a chance to refresh you are LESS productive in the long run.

Try it today…just don’t hit snooze 12 times like you did this morning! 😴
