Ithaca Common Council to vote on RPS recommendations

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Ithaca Common Council will vote tonight on adopting a report from the Special Committee for Public Safety. 

Among the recommendations mentioned in the report last month are the creation of a deputy city manager who would oversee the Ithaca Police Department, maintaining and supporting progressive change at IPD, and strengthening accountability and protection for whistleblowers.

The Common Council meeting begins at six o’clock.
