ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A pro-Palestinian protester at Cornell is reportedly rejecting an offer from the university.

Sophomore Nick Wilson was recently suspended for participating in a campus encampment. The Cornell Daily Sun reports he was offered academic credit in exchange for discontinuing his involvement in the protest.

Wilson says the university is trying to silence pro-Palestinian supporters – he adds he won’t be intimidated.

In a statement released Monday, Cornell President Martha Pollack said the encampment is diverting public safety away from other campus matters.
