ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Experts at Cornell say $10 billion is needed to stave off a potential worldwide hunger crisis caused by the pandemic.
The International Food Policy Research Institute says there’s an urgent need for additional aid. The most volatile regions are sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Millions have been left without work and unable to buy food.
The institute’s calling for governments to increase spending on social programs geared toward building sustainable food systems.
