Cortland County man charged in sex abuse investigation

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland County man is facing charges in a sex abuse investigation.

Deputies received a complaint on May 9, 2023, that allege 44-year-old Robert Schulte, of McGraw, sexually abused a minor from 2015 to 2022 in the Towns of Solon and Cortlandville. Authorities say the victim was known to Schulte.

Schulte was arrested Tuesday and taken to Cortland County Jail. Schulte is charged with seven felonies, including predatory sexual assault against a child and two counts of rape. He is additionally charged with two class A misdemeanors. He is scheduled to appear in Solon Town Court on May 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
