CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Two people in Cortland are accused of robbing a bank.

Police say 53-year-old Daniel Thilburg and 48-year-old Angela Schmidt were arrested Friday evening, several hours after the Tompkins Trust Bank in downtown Cortland was reportedly robbed.

Authorities say Thilburg passed a note to a teller demanding money. He escaped with thousands of dollars in a car allegedly driven by Schmidt.

Both are charged with robbery and grand larceny. Thilburg remains in the Cortland County Jail without bail, and Schmidt was released after arraignment.

They’ll appear in Cortland City Court on Wednesday.
