DECHELLIS SENTENCED

58-year old Ithaca resident Carmen Dechellis was sentenced last week to 1.5-3 years in jail for assaulting two corrections officers at the Tompkins County Jail last year.

The sentence was handed down after Dechellis pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault. Two orders of protection were also issued. The incident occurred November 26th, 2017 when Dechellis was an inmate at the jail after being convicted of punching Judge John Rowley in the face in April 2017. He was asked to change his bed linens and refused, starting a physical fight according to The Ithaca Voice. During the altercation two officers suffered injuries trying to control Dechellis.
