ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County leaders are considering helping the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.

The non-profit aims to start a retail attraction incentive program. The goal would be to bring new businesses downtown, by awarding money for signage and building improvements. Revenue from the county’s hotel room tax would fund the program.

Those discussions are ongoing.
