SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Tompkins County man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison.

55-year-old Timothy Buckley, of Groton, has been given 84 months for accepting and distributing child porn. As part of a prior guilty plea, Buckley admitted to receiving child porn on a social media app in January of 2021, and sending images to an undercover law enforcement officer later that year in August through the same social media app.

Additionally, United States District Judge David N. Hurd sentenced Buckley to 15 years of supervised release when he gets out of prison. Buckley will also be required to register as a sex offender.
