ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) — In-state students attending a SUNY school won’t be facing a tuition increase.

FingerLakes1.com reports the proposed hike has been nixed from state budget discussions. However, students from outside New York State will likely see their tuition rise by five to 15 percent.

Governor Hochul initially described her proposal to raise tuition as “modest.”
