ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca aims to maintain safety near gorges.

City officials are considering extending an agreement with Cornell that would keep nets under bridges. The contract has been in place since 2013 – it helps prevent people from falling into gorges at Cascadilla Creek and Fall Creek.

The city plans to lengthen the agreement for another decade. Officials meet at 6 PM on Wednesday to discuss.
