ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A 27-year-old Ithaca man is wanted by police for threatening officers with a machete.

IPD says Terry Short stole from a business on Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway on Monday afternoon while armed with two machetes. Officers confronted Short, who reportedly menaced them with the weapons before running into ‘the jungle.’ That’s where Short was last seen.

Charges against him are pending, and an active warrant is out for his arrest in an unrelated case. The public is advised to stay away from Short and call 911 instead if you see him.
