Jurors trying to decide former Cornell student Charles Tan’s fate spent the weekend at home.
After a third full day of deliberations on Friday, jurors were sent home without a verdict, even after requesting to hear more testimony read back, and another request to hear a 911 call played back.
Tan is accused of murdering his father inside his family’s home in suburban Rochester back in February.
Defense attorneys have argued that the father was violent to the family over a period of years.
Charles Tan faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
