Lansing man accused of stealing more than $250,000 from Cayuga County business

AUBURN, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Lansing man has been arrested after a month-long investigation in Cayuga County.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Scott Brenchley on Monday. Brenchley is accused of stealing more than $250,000 from a local business while acting as its financial controller. The crimes allegedly happened over the course of a year. According to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck, the investigation culminated in a search warrant at Brenchley’s residence. Brenchley is charged with two counts of grand larceny.
