New law broadens definition of rape, Hochul says

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) — Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a new sexual assault law.

She spoke Tuesday in Albany.

Hochul says the law clarifies existing legislation.

The new law, which broadens how rape is defined, starts September 1.
