PA man charged in Tioga Downs barn fire pleads guilty

OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Pennsylvania man accused of setting fire to a horse barn at Tioga Downs Casino has pleaded guilty.

33-year-old Boyd Fenton was in court Monday. Tioga County District Attorney Kirk Martin says Fenton pleaded guilty to arson and assault and 30 counts of animal cruelty.

Fenton will return to Tioga County Court in April for sentencing. He’s facing seven to 15 years in prison.

The November fire killed 30 horses.
