CAYUGA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WHCU) — The future is uncertain for a local golf course.

RaNic Golf Club in Cayuga Heights is listed for sale. Mayor Linda Woodard tells WHCU the course has been a communal hub.

“Our fire department had their annual awards dinner ceremony there, so it was a resource for the community,” she says. “It’s not clear what’s going to happen to it, at this point.”

Woodard adds she is “disappointed” by the potential sale, because co-owner Sean Whittaker “had some really interesting ideas.” Plans to build a hotel and townhouses at the site have not yet been approved.

WHCU has reached out to RaNic ownership for comment.
