Schwartz addresses IPD beats, staffing shortages

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Fewer than 40 officers are on the Ithaca Police Department roster.

Acting Chief Ted Schwartz tells WHCU it’s posed logistical problems.

Schwartz, who was named acting chief earlier this year, also says the staffing challenges have forced a temporary change to some police beats.

IPD continues to actively recruit new officers.
