UPDATE: Ithaca teen dies in Southern Tier highway crash

HORSEHEADS — Authorities have identified the three people who were in a car that crashed on I-86 in Horseheads early Thursday, including a 19-year-old from Ithaca who died in the crash.

Sheriff’s investigators in Chemung County say Luciano Servetto was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash just after midnight at Exit 54 of the highway, which is for Route 13.

Police say the driver, Johnathan Byrd, 27, of Ithaca, and a passenger, Carlton Clinton Jr., 32, of Elmira were taken to the hospital for treatment. Byrd sustained minor injuries, while Clinton was still hospitalized as of early Thursday evening.

There’s been no word on what caused the crash.
