NICHOLS, NY (607NewsNow) – Catholic Charities of Tioga County is preparing to celebrate a major milestone.

On February 6, after years of planning, the group will cut the ribbon on its new community food truck, Serving Hope on Wheels.

Made possible with grant funding, the truck will serve warm, nutritious meals to any community member in need. A representative of Catholic Charities says Serving Hope on Wheels is about dignity, access, and meeting people where they are.

The truck will be stationed regularly at the Catholic Charities building in Nichols; however, it will travel to multiple sites across the county on Mondays to close the gap for anyone with transportation barriers.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 11 a.m. this Friday at Catholic Charities in Nichols, located at 932 West River Road.
