LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) – Chipotle is coming to the Village of Lansing.

On February 24, the Village Planning Board approved the site plan for the popular food chain on Graham Road West.

The restaurant, which will feature a drive-thru, will be constructed at the site of the former Imperial Kitchen Buffet. The developer, Chris Fiello, of Unisis Development, said the setup will enable customers to complete their drive-thru orders in just several minutes.

He first approached the board in summer 2025 with ideas for the property. If he failed to get approval this month, the project would have been pushed to 2027 due to an opening timeline restriction from Chipotle.

The initial approval will allow Fiello to move forward, though there will be plenty of conditions as the project progresses, including stormwater, landscaping, signage, lighting, and sidewalk issues.

“There are certainly components that I know there will be notes on and that we’ll continue to work on, but I need to start drawing the plans for the building,” Fiello said Tuesday.

The entrance will be located on Butler Road across from the YMCA. In a previous meeting, Fiello said construction would take around five months, and he hopes to demolish the Imperial Kitchen building, which has been vacant for years, in March.

“I do want to thank everybody for their time,” added Fiello. “I know it’s been a bit of a process, but you know, I do plan on building a project that the community is really going to like, and I will continue to be as responsive as I possibly can.”

The site plan was approved unanimously. You can watch the full meeting here.
