Cornell student found dead, support meetings planned

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cornell student has died.

According to College of Arts and Sciences Dean Peter Lowen, class of 2025’s Jack Mallek was found dead in his off-campus apartment on February 8.

The Cornell Daily Sun reports that the McLean, Virginia native and senior was a math and computer science major at the College of Arts and Sciences and Cornell Bowers CIS. He is survived by his parents and brother. A cause of death has not been released.

Cornell is holding community support meetings tonight and tomorrow. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. in Malott Hall. Wednesday’s meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in Gates Hall.
