Cortland County Drug Takeback scheduled for late September

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — On Saturday, September 26th, 2026, the Cortland County Drug Takeback will be held at various locations across the county.

From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., residents can discard of unused or old medications at the Marathon Village Green/Homer High School or Homer Fire Department, or head to the Cortlandville Fire Department from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The event is put on through partnerships between the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, Cortlandville Fire Department, Cincinnatus Fire Department, Marathon Fire Department, Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC), Homer Fire Department, and the Village of Homer Police Department. 

Liquids and sharp objects such as needles, EpiPens, or similar items will not be accepted. Stay up to date through the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office Facebook here, and their website here.
