Farmers Market coupons, scam software available at Tompkins County Office for the Aging

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Farmers Market coupons for seniors are available in Tompkins County.

Eligible low-income residents 60 and over can pick up the $25 booklets through the county’s Office for the Aging (COFA), located at 214 West State Street in Ithaca.

The booklets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be picked up until September 30. The coupons are valid at participating markets through November 30.

Eligible Resident Income Requirements

  • $2,461 or less per month for a one-person household
  • $3,337 or less per month for a two-person household
  • $4,212 or less a month for a three-person household

For those who can’t make the trip downtown, outreach staff is also distributing the coupons at various sites throughout the county. Learn more about the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program here.

Additionally, COFA is helping protect residents from fraud.

The Office for the Aging has a limited number of free licenses available for a mobile phone app called SilverShield, which allows users to check texts, emails, and phone calls for scams in real time. Learn more about SilverShield here.
