Fatal crash under investigation in Richford

RICHFORD, NY (607NewsNow) – One person is dead, and two more are hospitalized after an accident in Tioga County.

Deputies were called Saturday, Jan. 3 around 1:30 p.m. to Route 79 in Richford for a two-vehicle crash.

The driver of the first vehicle was taken to Wilson Hospital and later transferred to SUNY Upstate Medical Center. The operator of the second vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the wreck, and a passenger was transported to Wilson Hospital.

The identities of those involved have not been released yet, and more information will be released as it becomes available.

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (607) 687-1010.
