NICHOLS, NY (607NewsNow) – Troopers are investigating a fatal accident in Tioga County.

On September 6, State Police were called to a motorcycle crash around 1 a.m. at South Main Street in Nichols. Troopers say 40-year-old Donald Archibald, of Sayre, PA, went off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole. The Suzuki motorcycle was “heavily damaged.”

Archibald was pronounced dead at the scene.
