Former Big Red hockey player joins Team USA for Winter Olympics

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cornell grad is going to Italy.

Class of 2025’s Rory Guilday has been chosen to join Team USA Women’s Hockey for the upcoming Winter Olympics.

The 3-time All-Ivy League selection and team captain played in 106 games for the Big Red before graduating last spring. The Minnesota native was recently drafted by the Ottawa Charge of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).

According to Cornell, she is the first player in the women’s program history to represent the U.S. in the Olympics.

Guilday and the team will play their first preliminary game on February 5. The Winter Olympics officially begin on February 6 and wrap up with the closing ceremonies on February 22.
