CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Cancer patients in Cortland will benefit from a grant.

On August 4, the Saint Agatha Foundation announced $2.3 million in funding to eight partners across Central New York, including Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

The money will be used to expand access to high-quality breast cancer care, primarily through technology upgrades.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with these eight provider organizations to improve care for people facing breast cancer,” said Saint Agatha Foundation Board President, Kathy Mezzalingua. “When breast cancer took my daughter Laurie from us too early, she asked me to ‘just help women.’ And that’s what we’re doing with this new round of grant funding. We can’t wait to see the impact.”

Other partners receiving funding in the area are Guthrie Lourdes and UHS, both in Binghamton.
