ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Cornell students will benefit from a new building.

On Oct. 28, the Ithaca Planning & Development Board granted final approval for a community center on West Campus. The building will serve as a home for the Jewish student organization Grinspoon Hillel.

Emily Petrina, who chairs the Planning & Development Board, applauded the project.

“Conceptually, it hits the mark,” she said. “Functionally, it’s just well-thought-out.”

Board member Andy Rollman also praised the project.

“I think this is going to be one of the most stunning buildings on the Cornell campus,” he said.

The center will have a cream color and four total floors. It’ll be across from Alice Cook House on University Avenue.
