ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca business owner objects to just cause legislation. 

Common Council members are still gathering information about a proposed law to protect workers. Kathy Nivison owns Express Employment Professionals, and she tells 607 News Now there’s no need for a new rule.

Laws already exist protecting workers, Nivison added.

Earlier this year, a committee was formed to explore potential legislation protecting people who work in the city of Ithaca from wrongful discharge.
