ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The SPCA of Tompkins County is dealing with a large influx of animals.

The Ithaca-based shelter “desperately needs” barn placement after an unexpected eviction left them with 27 feral and semi-feral cats.

The cats are currently being spayed, neutered, ear-tipped, and microchipped, but they cannot return to their original location. Staff says the cats are very scared and unhappy in the shelter.

If you or someone you know has space for one or more barn cats, send an email to behavior@spcaonline.com.

The SPCA says its adoption center is also full of dogs. They’re looking for additional volunteers to foster.
