WATKINS GLEN, NY (607NewsNow) — A 19-year-old Ithacan is going to prison.

Prosecutors in Schuyler County say Michael Blake, Jr. was sentenced Thursday to 2 1/3 to 7 years in state prison. Last month, Blake pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter for driving while drunk and high in the town of Hector nearly one year ago.

“A chemical analysis of the Defendant’s blood showed the presence of THC (the main compound in marijuana), and a BAC of .06% at the time of the collision,” prosecutors said.

Blake’s passenger, a 17-year-old from Trumansburg, was killed.
