Legislators share success stories of Tompkins County OAR College Initiatives Upstate program

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Tompkins County lawmaker Rich John is highlighting success stories from a local organization.

John recently attended a recognition and graduation ceremony of students in the Tompkins County Opportunities, Alternatives, and Resources‘ College Initiative Upstate (CIU) program. The CIU program provides paths to higher education for people in the criminal legal system.

John called it a great program at Tuesday’s Tompkins County Legislature meeting.

Vice Chair Shawna Black, who also attended the ceremony, shared more graduate details during legislator privilege of the floor.
