New Cortland County Mental Health building to open Feb. 23

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County’s mental health building is moving.

The office is relocating to a bigger space at 111 Port Watson St. in Cortland next Wednesday, Feb. 18 and Thursday, Feb 19.

“This move reflects Cortland County’s continued investment in mental health services and in the people who depend on them,” Cortland County Legislative Chair Kevin Fitch said. “While a relocation of this scale requires careful planning, our priority has always been ensuring continuity of care. We appreciate the community’s patience during this transition and look forward to welcoming clients to the new Port Watson Street location.”

The new building is scheduled to open Monday, Feb. 23. Ahead of that, the current facility at 7 Clayton Ave. will close to client care next Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

“We are excited about what this new facility means for the future of mental health services in Cortland County and the opportunities it creates to better serve our community,” Community Service Director Patricia Schaap said.

Hours of operation at the new space will be the same as the old:

  • Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
