ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Improvements are coming to Cornell’s football stadium.

Athletics Director Dr. Nicki Moore said handrails will be installed at Schoellkopf Field. She made the announcement during the Tompkins County Football Luncheon on Sept. 25.

Moore said the rails will make fans feel more “confident” navigating the stairs. She said construction is expected to start this coming spring.

Schoellkopf Field is also the home for men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, and sprint football games at Cornell. The stadium is over 100 years old.
