CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Seven Valleys Health Coalition is getting a boost from New York.

On August 22, Governor Hochul announced that the Cortland-based organization will receive just over $46,000 through the state’s Farmers’ Market Resiliency Grant Program.

“Our farmers’ markets are some of our greatest assets in getting healthy, fresh, New York-grown food directly into the communities who need them most,” Hochul said. “I’m proud to continue investing in these essential cornerstones of community that not only make a difference to our most vulnerable residents but are also connecting our hardworking New York farmers to new markets. I congratulate the awardees of this program’s funding and look forward to seeing how much you continue to grow.”

It’s part of $1.12 million headed to 25 markets for infrastructure and operational improvements, including signage, website development, online sales, and booth buildouts.

Regionally, the City of Geneva and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County will also receive $50,000.
