Sheriff: Suspect used fake gun in Cortlandville altercation

CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland County man is facing charges after an altercation.

On March 20, deputies responded to a home on Route 11 in Cortlandville around 1:10 a.m. for a report of a weapon.

Chad McKane allegedly used a fake gun during a fight with a victim who was known to him. Deputies say the 44-year-old also damaged property before fleeing the scene. He was located a short time later and arrested.

McKane is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor menacing, and misdemeanor criminal mischief. He’s being held in Cortland County Jail without bail.

McKane will appear in Cortlandville Town Court on April 1.
