Suspicious device discovered in Ithaca under investigation

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Authorities are investigating a suspicious device discovered in Ithaca.

On March 31, the Ithaca Fire Department and Ithaca Police Department were called to the 100 block of East Green Street around 3 p.m. for a device on the sidewalk.

Firefighters used hazardous materials detection equipment to analyze the device and found no credible threat. Authorities believe the incident was isolated and there is no danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available. The device was turned over to the Endicott Police Department Bomb Squad.
