ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Sunday is Open Farm Day in Tompkins County.
On August 9, Legislator Irene Weiser says a select group of farms will welcome guests to learn what it takes to produce food on a day-to-day basis.
The event, which is put on annually by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County (CCE), alternates which side of the lake will be featured each year.
“Community support of our local farmers is crucial for understanding why these producers are so important to our county,” added Weiser.
The event is free, but donations are welcome. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. You can learn more from CCE here.
