ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL) Director Leslie Tabor has resigned.

The TCPL Board of Trustees accepted Tabor’s resignation, effective immediately, on March 17. It comes after recent public scrutiny that led to a forensic audit of library operations announced earlier this month.

After joining the library in November 2022, Tabor implemented the new RFID scanning system, improved operational efficiency, and expanded access to NARCAN. She also greatly expanded the library’s physical and digital collections and has advocated strongly for public libraries and equitable access to information.

TCPL officials say a timeline for naming an interim director and the search for Tabor’s replacement will be announced in the coming weeks.
