ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A toy sold at Target is being recalled.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Gigglescape Under the Sea Popping Toys have a clear plastic dome that can detach from its base, exposing children to the small plastic balls inside.

The plastic pieces pose a choking hazard, and Target is aware of nine reports of the dome detaching, including one where a child began to choke.

Around 49,000 were sold online and in Target stores from August 2025 through January 2026. Consumers can return the product to any Target store for a full refund or contact Target for a prepaid shipping label to handle the return by mail.
