Van Etten man faces weapons charge after chase

VAN ETTEN, NY (607NewsNow) — A Chemung County man faces a felony weapons charge.

Deputies say Evon Rodriguez was speeding Saturday evening on Route 224 in the town of Van Etten. The 34-year-old stopped after continuing for over a mile, and deputies say he appeared drunk.

A search of Rodriguez’s vehicle revealed a ghost gun with a large capacity magazine. He’s been charged with felony possession of a weapon and two misdemeanors, including unlawful fleeing a police officer.
