LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) – Officials in the Village of Lansing want to collaborate more with business owners and residents.

On February 2, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to establish the Commercial Area Advisory Committee (CAAC).

CAAC’s goal will be to improve the village by evaluating current commercial conditions, particularly along the North Triphammer Road corridor, and advising trustees on goals, policies, and enhancements that benefit the public and support development that enhances the village tax base.

The committee will consist of at least one trustee, at least one planning board member, between one and five village business owners, between one and five village residents with relevant personal or professional experience, and one chamber of commerce representative, if available. Village officials will serve one-year terms, while residents and business owners will serve two-year stints.

The group’s first order of business will be to establish a vision statement. Read more about the CAAC here.
