4 Months of Bebe Love

Dante turned 4 big months old on Friday!  He is becoming such a big strong boy, with such a little personality on him…and new skills it seems daily.

Probably the most notable thing that’s happened in the past couple of weeks is that he rolled over, from front to back.  The first time he did it, I didn’t quite expect it nor believe it.  I hadn’t given him much “tummy-time” in the past month because, well, he hates it first off.. and his neck and back are quite strong and he can sit up nicely if supported.  So, on a whim I laid him on his tummy, and he cranked his head up, tucked his arm under and PLOP!!  Stunned, I put him back on his stomach, and he did it again!  Then I called Anthony in.. and he did it again!  So that time we caught it on camera .. the fourth time in a row.. and he got really mad.  Either we were working him out too much, or he scared himself with the force at which he plopped over.  But, he rolled over (and over and over), which is the cool thing.

Next stop:  babyproofing.  Because, ya know, that time is coming.  [shudders]

GROWTH

Weight:  14 lbs+ (presumably…doctor appointment coming up to verify)

Size: 3-6mo clothing in most cases – a lot of these sizes vary. Size 1 diapers are getting snug, and I still have 2 massive boxes of them to go through!!

MILESTONES AND DEVELOPMENT

-has rolled over, front to back!  There goes the neighborhood…and being able to leave him unattended on the couch/etc.

-really likes to “stand up” – will stand (supported) on my lap.

-has discovered his voice.  Now yells and squawks just to hear himself.

-likes to grab and hold onto mommy’s and grammie’s hair.

-Kicks his hanging mobile of toys up and over the changing pad he likes to lie on.  Is very proud of himself when he dislodges it.

-baby hair is bald/peach fuzz in odd patterns around his head.  Waiting for his “real-person” to hair to come in.

-does a smacking motion with his mouth… mimics our chewing.  Is eye-balling our food… I think solids are in his pretty near future.

-drooling like a leaky faucet.

 LIKES

-outdoors, trees, the sky, always

-toys:  Elephant with rings, lying on his activity mat with the toys dangling down at him.  Crinkle monkey!

-being carried around….constantly.

-noise like the air conditioner

 DISLIKES

– being put down

– interruptions in feeding

-the spider plant hanging above the couch

 SLEEPING

-sleeps well through the night, always has.

-gets cranky around 5pm, which is what we call the beginning of his “unhappy hour”

-can still seamlessly sleep through loud gatherings

EATING

-still nursing!! yay, mommy a.k.a. “the Lunch Truck”!!

-about 4oz each feed
