Uh oh ladies (and guys!)… not only do you not feel too sexy for a while after giving birth (hello! exhausted, perpetually dissheveled, a lil’ bit overweight and not feeling too good about yourself…shall I go on??), but add to that your baby-daddy is just not quite that into gettin’ it on with you as much as in your pre-baby life. Well, chances are, it’s not you, it’s him. Get this:
HAVING A BABY REDUCES THE FATHER’S SEX DRIVE:
New research shows that having a baby can actually reduce the Dad’s sex drive. To find this, researchers asked 114 partners of new mothers about their sexual behavior and enjoyment in the first three months after the birth of the child. Researchers found that one-in-five new fathers did not resume lovemaking for more than three months. Men said the reason they waited was concern about the woman’s physical condition following childbirth, lack of time, and exhaustion. Zita West, a British fertility expert says, “After the excitement of the early days, many men are going back to work exhausted and often feeling excluded by the bond between mother and baby, particularly when they are breastfeeding.” Researchers say it’s just a myth that fathers have an easy time in the first few months of having a new child.
