Americans spend about two-and-a-half hours a day scrolling through dream purchases they cannot afford, a survey of 2,000 adults found.
43% admit to “dreamscrolling” more when the economy is “uncertain.”
In total, Americans spend about 873 hours scrolling through lavish purchases — which works out to over two hours a day!
However, dreamscrolling might serve a practical purpose: Respondents say the habit makes it easier for them to make wise purchases, avoid unplanned spending, and plan to achieve their financial goals.
The Empower survey found that respondents enjoy looking at homes, vacation destinations, beauty products, and gifts for their pets.
